Rain Can’t Dampen Maxim’s 2024 Charity BBQ

Rain Can’t Dampen Maxim’s 2024 Charity BBQ

Maxim Truck & Trailer held their 21st annual Charity BBQ event on June 6, 2024 at their Head Office in Winnipeg and raised over $25,500 in support of Harvest Manitoba. While the weather was cloudy, windy and rainy, it didn’t dampen the event’s success.

Attendees were treated to great food, live music and a large selection of raffle prizes generously provided by sponsoring suppliers.

The event was attended by over 300 guests. It took a team of over 80 Maxim employee volunteers to organize the annual event that’s been part of Maxim’s history for over 20 years. Funds raised were from Maxim corporate, employees, customers, suppliers and friends who helped make the annual event a big success.

All proceeds from the event went to support Harvest Manitoba ("Harvest"), a charitable organization dedicated to nourishing communities and Manitoba’s sense of community. Harvest collects and distributes over 12 million pounds of food annually to Manitobans through their Community Food Network. This network includes over 360 food banks and agencies in Winnipeg, rural, northern, and First Nations communities. Harvest Manitoba currently serves 44,000 Manitobans per month with food bank hampers throughout the province, with nearly half being children. The Food Distribution Centre operates from Harvest’s Winnipeg Headquarters, including the emergency food support line and warehouse.

“We feel more strongly than ever in the good work Harvest Manitoba does in our community,” says Troy Hamilton, President of Maxim Truck & Trailer. “We want to do our part to help ensure no one goes hungry.”
