(Winnipeg, MB) Maxim Truck & Trailer held a live charity BBQ event on June 8th at their Head Office in Winnipeg and raised over $25,000 in support of Harvest Manitoba.
The event was attended by over 400 guests. It took a team of over 80 Maxim employee volunteers to organize the annual event that’s been part of Maxim’s history for over 20 years. Funds raised were from Maxim corporate, employees, customers, suppliers and friends who helped make the annual event a big success. “Whether it’s time or money, it’s important to me that our company has a culture of giving back,” said Maxim Truck & Trailer President, Troy Hamilton. “Maxim has always had a mandate to give back to our community,” says Hamilton. “We continue to see a tremendous amount of need out there, particularly with the high cost of food. We want to do our part to ensure no one goes hungry.”
“We're incredibly thankful for Maxim Truck & Trailer's generous support,” said Harvest Manitoba President & CEO, Vince Barletta. “The funds raised through their charity BBQ will directly impact the lives of struggling families and adults facing food insecurity in Manitoba. With a 150% increase in demand for food bank services in the last year, there is a pressing need for our support,” Barletta explains. “This donation from Maxim Truck & Trailer is truly significant, allowing us to provide essential food assistance and work towards our goal of a hunger-free community.” Harvest Manitoba is a charitable organization dedicated to nourishing our communities and our sense of community so that no Manitoban goes hungry.
