Maxim Raises $50,000 at Charity Pancake Breakfast

(Winnipeg, MB December 12, 2022)…Now in its 20th year, Maxim Truck & Trailer held their annual charity Pancake Breakfast on December 8, 2022 in Winnipeg and raised $30,000 for the Christmas Cheer Board of Winnipeg from a full house of participants. The day after the event took place, the Winnipeg Foundation informed Maxim that a $20,000 grant was made to the Christmas Cheer Board in memory of Susan Scott and in honour of Maxim’s Annual Charity Pancake Breakfast. The grant was made by an anonymous donor. The event’s proceeds and the generous grant bring the total raised for the Christmas Cheer Board this year to $50,000.

“We’ve all heard that the need this year has never been greater,” says Maxim President Troy Hamilton. “Over the years, we have worked hard to foster a company culture of giving back at Maxim. Based on the Winnipeg Foundation grant, it’s encouraging to learn that our charity events are having a real impact in our community.”

“Maxim has been such a tremendous supporter of the Cheer Board for many years. We are grateful for the continued support, especially in such challenging times,” says Shawna Bell, Executive Director of The Christmas Cheer Board of Winnipeg. “The addition of the grant this year is a tremendous boost for our organization.”

The Christmas Cheer Board provides assistance to low-income seniors, people living with disabilities, newcomers to Canada and needy families across Winnipeg. Each season the organization distributes over 16,000 hampers to Winnipeggers in need.

The charity breakfast took place at Maxim’s Head Office in Winnipeg and attracted a full house of staff, customers, suppliers and friends from many different industries and locations. Funds raised from the Maxim Charity Pancake Breakfast comes from Maxim employees, customers, suppliers and friends who helped make the annual event such a big success. Over 80 Maxim volunteers help put on the charity breakfast.

Along with the cash donation, the event also gathered a full SUV full of non-perishable food items for Harvest Manitoba along with a large donation of surplus food to Siloam Mission.
