Today’s we’re looking at International’s RH Straight Truck, now built with the S13 Integrated Powertrain, in partnership with Scania.
Engine:
- The new S13 engine is a 13-litre diesel engine coming in around 2,500 lbs. It’s built with a fixed geometry turbocharger and produces up to 515 HP and 1850 lbs. ft. of torque
- It’s lightweight is thanks to its lack of an EGR cooler, which is no long required thanks to new aftertreatment design. Check out of dedicated S13 video for more information on how that works.
- But because of the new engine design and construction, this S13 provides a much cleaner and efficient fuel burn, making is 15% more fuel efficient compared to previous industry engines.
- The new T14 transmission also provides deep low-end gearing and shifting smoothness, thanks to its single countershaft system, 2 crawlers, and overdrive gear.
- Also, the dual-stage aftertreatment system is compact to provide more frame rail mounting space, and doesn’t require DPF regen.
- And the entire powertrain’s design has been simplified, which means faster fixes and less time spent in the shop.
Cab:
- The biggest advantage the RH has when it comes to its cab design is its maneuverability. The RH truck is designed for in-city driving, and when you’re driving in city, you need to be able to make tight turns quickly. With the short nose cab design and the 50-degree wheel cut, this truck can make those turns happen with minimal effort.
- The powerful HVAC system employs advanced automotive heating and cooling technology to deliver optimal comfort and reliability. The system endured rigorous testing in extreme temperatures to deliver best-in-class visibility and comfort.
- The max defrost feature in the HVAC system helps clear windows faster in colder climates, providing quicker, clearer visibility for increased uptime and less waiting.
- Traditional headlamps while delivering brighter light pattern and intensity.
- The easily removable 3-piece bumper provides quick service access to front components.
- It comes with 4x2, 6x2, and 6x4 axle configurations, with a 14,000/46,000 axle capacity and a GVW rating of up to 60,000 lbs.
